During this fiscal year,
significant efforts were made to strengthen people's organizations (POs) and
enhance networking from the grassroots to the district level to mobilize
communities for land rights and agrarian reform.
· Grassroots &
Union Level: The organization successfully conducted all 308 planned
Quarterly Coordination Meetings of the Union Landless Coordination Committee.
Additionally, all 120 scheduled Quarterly Unit
Management Council Meetings across 30 units achieved a 100% success rate.
· Upazila &
District Level: All 44 planned Quarterly Coordination Meetings of the
Upazila/Thana Landless Coordination Committee (UZLCC) and all 8 scheduled
Quarterly Coordination Meetings of the District Landless Coordination Committee
(DLCC) were successfully held. To advocate for
land rights and agrarian reform issues, 2 major District-level Mass Gatherings
of the DLCC were organized as targeted.
· Federations &
Women Leadership: Both the Federation of Peoples Organization (FPOs) and
the Women Federation of Peoples Organization (WFPOs) successfully met their
targets by conducting 32 quarterly coordination meetings each. Furthermore, 8 Mass Gatherings of FPOs were organized at the
constituency level. To mobilize policy and
identify critical women's rights issues, WFPOs leaders successfully facilitated
2 targeted Women Gatherings.
· Inclusion &
Disability Issues: In Dinajpur and Thakurgaon districts, all 8 scheduled
Quarterly Meetings of Differently Able Federation members were conducted.
To push disability issues into mainstream discussion, 2
yearly discussion meetings were held with Government and Non-Government
officials across the 2 districts.
· Institutional
Coordination: For poor people's land rights and policy reform issues, 4
quarterly coordination meetings were successfully arranged with PLANET members.
At the sub-district level, 10 out of 11 planned NGO
Coordination Meetings were completed. Internally,
coordination remained strong with 60 monthly staff meetings at the regional
office level and 24 fortnightly staff meetings at the central office level.
Additionally, 2 half-yearly meetings were conducted
with panel lawyers in the Dinajpur and Thakurgaon districts.
To empower community
leaders and improve grassroot-level management, several targeted training
programs and workshops were implemented.
· Policy Advocacy for Women: A 3-day
specialized Training on Policy Advocacy was successfully organized for 1 leader
of the Women Federation of Peoples Organization (WFPOs).
· Grassroots
Management: To improve local governance, 33 day-long field-based workshops
focusing on Small Projects Planning, Accounts Management, and Record Keeping
were successfully conducted at the unit level.
· Strategic Planning:
To build future resilience and vision, 33 day-long workshops on Strategic
Planning were successfully carried out at the POs level.
Publicity and mass
awareness campaigns played a vital role in keeping the land rights movement
visible and engaging the public.
· Publications &
Material Development: All 4 scheduled quarterly issues of the "CDA
Barta" magazine were published. In terms of
raising awareness on land governance and land rights movements, the
organization developed and distributed 26,079 pieces of materials against a
target of 30,401.
· Audio-Visual &
Documentaries: A video documentary developed to promote "Land Rights
as Human Rights" and highlight other crucial issues was successfully
disseminated across 30 targeted locations.
· Day Observation:
To mobilize rural landless men, women, youth, persons with disabilities, and
indigenous peoples (IPs), 95 out of 96 targeted National, International, and UN
Days were celebrated. The organization also
ensured 100% participation in the government's Land Service Week across 11
targeted areas.
Key interventions were made
to provide security to human rights defenders and maintain organizational
growth.
· Legal Aid Support:
The organization initially targeted providing legal aid support to 20 victims
who are land rights defenders. However, driven
by immediate grassroots demand and necessity, the team extended legal aid
support to 50 victims, significantly exceeding the original target based
entirely on the emergency needs of the victims.
· POs Progression
Ladder: To maintain the structural growth and progression ladder of CDA,
the independent separation process for 43 planned People's Organizations (POs)
was successfully executed.
The performance review of
the 2024-2025 fiscal year demonstrates that CDA has achieved nearly 100% of its
targets across almost all indicators. The most
remarkable milestone of the year was the provision of legal aid, where the
organization went above and beyond to support 50 victims instead of the
targeted 20, responding directly to crucial field realities. Minor gaps in a few sub-district meetings and day
celebrations do not take away from what has otherwise been a highly impactful
and successful operational year.
